Accounting’s focus is using information to improve business decisions. It is the process if measuring, processing, recording, and communicating financial information used by business owners and managers in making strategic business decisions.
By pursuing an accounting certificate students will learn to measure the operational success and failure of businesses, and how to this information as a guide to make effective decisions in an international marketplace.
Some accounting courses will help you prepare for several qualifying examinations, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Meet with your adviser if you plan on pursuing one of these exams to ensure you take the appropriate classes.

BSBA students may receive a Certificate in Accounting by earning a grade of C or higher. The courses must be taken on a letter-grade basis. BSBA students may use one course from their BSBA concentration towards the certificate if applicable. Prerequisites are listed in parentheses and will not be waived.
