The minor in Leadership Studies is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge of leadership theory, skills, and practical experience through a rigorous, multi-disciplinary program of study. Offered by the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact in partnership with Leadership Education and Development.
The Leadership Studies Minor is open to students from all majors and requires 15 credit hours of coursework. Go beyond learning about leadership and put it into action. Through interdisciplinary teamwork and real-world projects, students develop the skills to navigate complex challenges, collaborate across differences, and create meaningful impact.

In order to be considered for the Minor in Leadership Studies, an application must be submitted first. Applications are received and reviewed throughout the year. Response letters sent out a few weeks before registration begins for the fall, spring and summer semesters
Minors are declared by filling out an Undergraduate Change of Minor form. Once Leadership Studfies application has been approved students can add the Leadership Studies Minor using theChange of Minor Form.
BSBA students will list their academic advisor as both the major advisor and minor advisor.
Non-BSBA students will list their academic advisor as the major advisor andLindsay Staaras the minor advisor.
A maximum of 3 credit hours can be shared with another minor or certificate. For specific questions, schedule an advising appointment.
To be enrolled in the Leadership Minor program, you must have:
Completed 30 credit hours;
A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater;
Completed a formal application to the program and have been admitted to the program*
*Minor Addition Forms will only be accepted once you have been admitted into the program
Students must earn a grade of C or higher for any course that is applied to the completion of the requirements for the minor. Overall, a student's GPA for all the minor courses averaged together must be 2.75 or higher.
It is the major advisor’s responsibility to verify that students are using only courses from the designated block(s) from the student’s major field of study that are allowed to satisfy a minor program, that they are not using any Core Area A-E courses (including humanities and social sciences), and that they are not using any courses for more than one minor or certificate. Any free elective course used to satisfy the course requirements of the student’s major degree program may also be used to satisfy the course requirements for a minor.
A maximum of 3 credit hours of transfer credit may be used to satisfy the course requirements for a minor. This includes courses taken at another institution or credit earned through the AP or IB program, assuming the scores meet Georgia Tech minimum standards.
