Green Belt Certification Project in Panama
Your Path to Becoming a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business teaches professionals how to identify problems, analyze processes, and implement solutions that drive measurable improvements. This Executive Education program begins with four days of live virtual synchronous instruction and asynchronous assignments and concludes with a certification project. Participants may complete this project within their own organization or choose the optional Panama Certification Project, an international immersion that applies Lean Six Sigma in a real-world global setting.
A Global Experience
For participants seeking a deeper, real-world challenge, the Panama Certification Project offers an optional, international immersion that fulfills the final requirement to earn your Green Belt certificate. This immersive project broadens your professional network while enriching your understanding of global business practices and strengthening your problem-solving skills.
Hands-On Application
Collaborate directly with a sponsoring Panamanian company to tackle real business challenges.
Cultural Immersion
Experience Panama’s unique business and cultural landscape while expanding your global perspective.
Collaborative Learning
Work side-by-side with fellow participants to analyze operations, apply Lean Six Sigma tools, and present actionable solutions.
“One thing I appreciate the most about this entire project is that when we arrived in Panama, we had the rug pulled out from under us because we had to understand the business and the culture. We had to dig deep and understand how they live.” - James East, Georgia Tech Lean Six Sigma Green Belt participant

“Watching students apply the DMAIC methodology in a real-world environment, especially when faced with ambiguity, was incredibly rewarding. It’s one thing to teach a framework in class; it’s another to see it come to life under pressure.”
– Bob Myers Faculty Director of Lean Six Sigma Programs
