The Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business today announced the launch of the Center for AI in Business, an evolution of the College’s highly regarded Business Analytics Center that reflects the rapidly changing role of artificial intelligence in business strategy, decision-making, and innovation.
The Center for AI in Business builds on Scheller’s strong foundation in analytics while expanding its focus to the responsible, applied, and strategic use of AI across business disciplines. During the Spring 2026 semester, the Center will operate in a transitional phase, laying the groundwork for expanded academic programming, experiential learning, research, and industry engagement.
“As AI becomes increasingly central to how organizations operate and compete, business leaders need more than just technical fluency — they need strategic judgment,” said Anuj Mehrotra, Dean and Stephen P. Zelnak Chair. “The Center for AI in Business will uniquely position Scheller to prepare students to lead in this new environment with rigor, responsibility, and real-world impact.”
A Hub for AI-Driven Business Education and Research
In addition to continuing its core analytics mission, the Center for AI in Business will expand its focus to:
- Integrating AI concepts and applications across Scheller’s undergraduate and graduate curricula
- Creating innovative experiential learning opportunities for students
- Advancing research at the intersection of AI and business
- Deepening engagement with industry partners to ensure applied relevance
The Center will serve as a hub for curricular and co-curricular initiatives that equip graduates to guide organizations through AI-driven transformation, building on Scheller’s established strengths in business analytics and applied research.
Adithya Pattabhiramaiah Named Inaugural Faculty Director
As part of this announcement, Scheller named Adithya Pattabhiramaiah, professor of marketing, as the Center’s inaugural Faculty Director.
Pattabhiramaiah’s research spans media monetization, digital and social media marketing, education, sustainability, nutrition, and public policy, with a strong emphasis on data-driven and AI-enabled decision-making.
“I am honored to lead Scheller into a new era of business education, driving the College into the new age of an artificial intelligence-connected workforce,” said Pattabrhiramaiah. “The Center for AI in Business is a groundbreaking moment for both Scheller and Georgia Tech and I am excited to get to move the needle on industry transformation around AI.”
His work has been published in leading journals and has received numerous honors, including the MSI Alden G. Clayton Dissertation Competition Award and multiple AMA and MSI research awards.
“As Faculty Director, Adi brings the rare combination of deep academic credibility, applied industry experience, and a clear-eyed view of where AI adds real value in business,” said Jonathan Clarke, Senior Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives. “He is exceptionally well positioned to shape the Center’s academic vision and external impact.”
Building Toward a Full Launch
The Spring 2026 semester will serve as a foundational period for the Center for AI in Business, with branding, web presence, and core messaging rolling out as part of this announcement. A broader launch — featuring expanded programming and public-facing initiatives — is planned for later in 2026.
Additional details about the Center’s activities, opportunities for partnership, and opportunities for student and industry engagement will be shared in the coming months.
