Center for AI in Business
About the Center
We empowers students, faculty, and industry partners to harness the transformative potential of applied artificial intelligence.
The Center for AI in Business sits at the intersection of AI research, business education, and corporate practice. We connect 70+ Scheller faculty researchers, student talent, and industry partners. Our work produces graduates who can build, deploy, and govern AI in organizations, faculty research that directly informs corporate AI strategy, and partner deliverables that companies can act on.
Why This Matters Now
AI is reshaping how organizations compete, hire, and create value. Autonomous agents now plan, coordinate, and act inside live business workflows, and deployment is outpacing governance at most companies. The demand for business leaders who can design, deploy, and govern AI is rising faster than business schools can produce them.
The Center prepares Scheller graduates to meet that demand and partners with industry on the practical questions of AI adoption: what works, what fails, and what to measure.
Strategic Pillars
Education and Talent Development
Hands-on practicums, immersive crisis simulations, startup co-building, and the AI Fluency podcast series. Students engage with AI in ways that go well beyond the classroom. Our graduates do not just understand AI conceptually; they have built, deployed, and evaluated AI systems in real business contexts.
Research
Original, peer-reviewed faculty research across five priority areas that matter most to business right now: labor market disruption, autonomous AI agents and cybersecurity, context engineering, open-source AI economics, and return on AI and governance. Scheller's 70+ faculty researchers produce work that directly informs corporate AI strategy, not just academic discourse.
Industry Engagement and Community Impact
Faculty-industry advisory boards, annual prototyping competitions, and an applied AI showcase. The result is a feedback loop: industry surfaces the problems, faculty and students produce the research and prototypes, and partners receive deliverables they can act on.
Five AI Priorities Facing Industry Right Now
These are the five areas where AI is reshaping how organizations compete, hire, and create value. Scheller faculty produce frontier research in every one.
