Ms. Shaw was the first Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer at four organizations: Edelman, Marsh McLennan, the NBA, and Starbucks. She is a sports industry pioneer, who was the first person to hold the position of Chief DE&I Officer in the NBA. She not only held that role for the Atlanta Hawks, but then further pioneered the contours of the role inside sports, assisting the NBA and other leagues and teams with defining the Chief DE&I role. Prior to the Hawks, Ms. Shaw served as the first in-house talent recruiter for the National Football League (NFL).
Ms. Shaw currently holds two positions at TurnkeyZRG:
- President of TurnkeyZRG in charge of operations, client services, new business development, and strategy.
- Global head of ZRG’s diversity, equity & inclusion practice worldwide.
Ms. Shaw has been recognized with numerous “40 Under 40” awards from the likes of Sports Business Journal, Atlanta Business Chronicle, The Network Journal, and PR Week. In addition to serving on the Board of Trustees of Fisk University, the Board of Directors of ColorComm, and the Board of Advisors of Arctos Sports Partners, she was appointed by President Jimmy Carter to serve a six-year term on the Board of Councilors of The Carter Center.
Ms. Shaw received her MLA from the University of Pennsylvania and her BA from Spelman College. She was a study abroad scholar at Oxford.
