Georgia Tech welcomed the newest cohort of the Provost’s Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) on Friday, August 28, kicking off eight months of leadership development, learning, and connection for faculty and research professionals across the Institute.

The 2026–27 Provost’s Emerging Leaders Program launched its eight-month leadership journey with a Welcome Session focused on connection, collaboration, and learning from Georgia Tech’s senior leaders.

The 11th cohort brings together 16 emerging leaders from across Georgia Tech. Read the full announcement introducing the 2026–27 Emerging Leaders cohort.
The Welcome Session provided participants with an opportunity to begin building relationships with their new cohort while hearing directly from some of Georgia Tech’s senior leaders about their own leadership journeys.
The day began with a welcome and a team-building activity designed to help the new cohort get to know one another while exploring the importance of team dynamics.
Throughout the day, the cohort heard leadership insights from:
- Tim Lieuwen, Executive Vice President for Research, Regents’ Professor, and holder of the David S. Lewis, Jr. Chair at Georgia Tech
- Provost Raheem Beyah, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
- Ángel Cabrera, Georgia Tech President
Each shared perspectives from their own leadership journeys, giving participants an opportunity to reflect on the experiences, challenges, and lessons that shape leadership. The day included additional leadership exercises and opportunities for reflection, allowing participants to connect the ideas discussed throughout the day to their own experiences as leaders.
The program is facilitated by Terry Blum, Tedd Munchak Chair in Entrepreneurship and Faculty Director of the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact, and Katie Badura, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Associate Faculty Director of the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact.
With the Welcome Session marking the beginning of the 2026–27 program, the newest ELP cohort will continue their leadership journey through the spring, engaging in workshops, small-group learning, and coaching designed to help them grow as leaders and contribute to Georgia Tech’s future.
