Dear Scheller Community,
June was an energizing month for Scheller and a reminder of what makes our vision of becoming the world’s most connected, entrepreneurial, and experiential business school possible. As Atlanta welcomed the World Cup and stepped onto the global stage, Scheller also marked an international milestone.
Tech Talks Business made its international debut in Paris at the historic Luxembourg Palace in collaboration with Georgia Tech-Europe. In a fireside chat with Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Raheem Beyah, we explored how universities and organizations must adapt in an AI-driven world, and the role Georgia Tech is playing in preparing students for that future.
It was inspiring to connect with our Yellow Jackets in Paris at the alumni reception, made possible through the partnership of Georgia Tech-Europe President Abdallah Ougazzaden and Senator Khalife Khalife. The Georgia Tech Europe advisory board meeting on our expanding Metz campus was invigorating, as was the opportunity to see our students studying there this semester.
Closer to home, we continued our Scheller in Your City series with stops in Lawrenceville and Roswell. There is something irreplaceable about gathering across our communities, hearing where our alumni are in their journeys, what they are creating, and how Scheller continues to shape their thinking. Our community is strong and connected, and evenings like these are a meaningful reminder of that.
Experiential learning continues to define our approach to business education. Thanks to the generosity of a donor, the TI:GER Program will be named the Warren L. Batts TI:GER Program. Through this program, Evening MBA student Jamila Moses is working at the intersection of emerging technology, commercialization, and customer discovery by applying classroom frameworks to practical innovation challenges. In Tim Halloran’s Strategic Brand Management course, MBA students partnered with Minturn Whisky to help shape the company’s brand strategy through real-time, data-driven recommendations.
Our students distinguished themselves in athletics this month. Four Scheller student-athletes helped make this a historic year for Georgia Tech baseball, which earned a program-record five All-American selections, two of whom also earned Academic All-America honors, reflecting their performance both on the field and in the classroom. On the golf course, four Scheller students were named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Team. These recognitions carry forward a proud Scheller tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and leadership.
Our alumni demonstrate how a Scheller education can support lives and careers defined by reinvention, resilience, and impact. In our latest Entrepreneurs of Scheller feature, we highlighted Melissa “Sissy” Blanchard, B.S. Management ’95, whose career has included launching a retail brand, running a California wine bar, and growing a coastal furniture business here in Georgia. We are especially grateful for her commitment to giving back through the Melissa J. Blanchard MBA Fellowship Endowment Fund, which will support future Scheller students as they pursue their own paths.
Our faculty continue to shape important conversations at the intersection of technology, business, and society. Charlotte Alexander, professor of Law and Ethics and leader of Georgia Tech’s Law, Data, and Design Lab, joined the Pioneers and Pathfinders podcast where she discussed her research using AI to improve transparency in the court system.
We also took time this month to recognize the work of Scheller’s staff through a staff appreciation gathering. The College’s momentum is made possible by the dedication, creativity, and care of our staff, whose contributions support our students, faculty, alumni, and partners every day. I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our colleagues and for the commitment that makes Scheller such a collaborative and vibrant place to learn and work.
Looking ahead, Scheller will continue its summer travel with an upcoming Scheller in Your City event in San Francisco on July 8 and a Wreck on the Road: Houston event on July 29. If you're in one of those cities, I hope you will register and join us.
Thank you for your engagement and support, which allows us to build on our momentum and continue to innovate together.
Best wishes,
Anuj Mehrotra
