What’s something on your bucket list?

I would love to take a backpacking tour in Europe.

What is a favorite place you’ve traveled to and why?

Puerto Rico. Being half Puerto Rican, I was able to immerse myself in my family’s island. Between the beaches, music, and food, I was in awe.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Getting my master’s as a first-generation graduate student!

What is the hardest thing you’ve ever done?

The hardest thing I’ve ever done is move away from New York on my own. I packed my car and drove to Georgia to start a new life.

What is your latest book recommendation?

“After Life” by Melissa De La Cruz. This is part one. Part two is called “After Death”. These two books follow a series called The Blue Bloods. I was obsessed with her writing since high school and was glad she wrote these two other books recently.

Your life story in one sentence:

A strong, educated Afro-Latina woman honoring her late mother by continuing to learn and be kind to others.

What is your favorite Atlanta restaurant?

El Valle. Their Mexican cuisine is so good.

What is your favorite comfort food or family recipe?

I love making baked macaroni and cheese and creamed corn cornbread. Southern home cooking is my weakness.

What is your favorite Scheller tradition?

I really enjoy the Crawfish Boil; I’ve never been to anything like it, and it was such a great experience.

Why do you like working at Scheller?

I enjoy the students I get to interact with, but the staff and faculty are impressive as well. It’s the people of Scheller that help me enjoy every day at work.
