In celebration of Spring 2025 Commencement, we sat down with a few undergraduate students to learn about their experiences and the wisdom they've gained in the process.
Meet Parth Gandhi, who is graduating with a concentration in Information Technology Management.

Where did you attend high school?
Lambert High School
Who most influenced your decision to pursue business in college?
I was a part of a club named DECA in high school, where I found a passion for marketing that influenced me to pursue business in college.
Why did you choose Scheller College of Business?
I was a transfer student from the University of Georgia and chose to transfer to Scheller to take advantage of the technical education Georgia Tech offered. The Scheller College of Business aligned with my interest in business in the modern world, and I was able to gain technology and strategy skills.
What concentration did you pursue and why?
I pursued an Information Technology Management concentration to build a technical knowledge base that I can draw on in my future business career. I wanted to be able to understand the language of technology and the back end of systems to be the most well-rounded employee possible, even when working on the front-end.
What is your best piece of advice to an applicant hoping to get into Scheller College?
Make sure to let your passion for your interests flow through the application and be authentic representing your aspirations. Make sure to let what makes you unique shine; you don’t want to blend in!
What is the biggest myth about Scheller College?
The biggest myth about Scheller is that the school is extremely competitive or cut-throat. I have always found that my peers are supportive and help me succeed! The Scheller community is always there to cheer you on when you accomplish something.
As a business student in the heart of Tech Square, how do you think Scheller College embodies the intersection of business and technology?
Scheller is in the heart of a changing, advanced, and innovative part of a major city so there is so much to get involved in. I feel like I didn’t just learn about business, but I got to experience it.
What was your favorite course and what was the biggest insight you gained about business from it?
My favorite course was Introduction to Marketing with Dr. Michael Lowe. I learned so many useful perspectives when it comes to marketing in the modern day and got to see the effects of it through interactive discussions, activities, and projects. I discovered an interest in customer behavior and psychology; all things I would never have had exposure to without this class.
Who was your favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor was Professor Aleks Rebeka. I took her strategy course, and it was an interesting class. I learned about the process of strategy analysis in a real-world way by analyzing real companies. She really enjoys discussion and debate in class, and it encouraged me to be engaged in the content.
What activities were you involved with on or off campus, and did your business education impact those activities in any way?
Throughout my time at Scheller, I have been a part of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional fraternity. I was able to apply the skills I learned in the classroom in multiple leadership roles in the organizations, and it gave me a steppingstone into the real world.
I was also a part of the Scheller Business Ambassadors, where I was immersed in the Scheller community through outreach events and community development activities.
As a student assistant in the Undergraduate Program Office, I was connected to the advising and career development staff and learned valuable career lessons.
Where did you intern/co-op during school?
I had two internships – one after my sophomore year at Cox Communications in Atlanta and one after my junior year at American Express in New York.
Where will you be working after graduation?
I will be working at American Express in New York as an analyst.
How did the Scheller College undergraduate career education program assist you with your job efforts?
The career education program gave me so much information and prepared me for my internships and my career after graduation. Taking the Career Development class with Michael Dutcher helped me land interviews and present myself well in the workplace.
Who would you like to thank most for your success?
I would like to thank my parents for supporting me throughout my life and college career; they made it possible for me to get a Georgia Tech education and prepared me to succeed. I also want to thank everyone in the Undergraduate Program Office for their help during my college journey. Also, a thank you to the friends I’ve made in my Scheller classes and organizations for making me feel at home.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I love music and have known that since I was little. When I was nine years old, I recorded my own studio album on my family computer and burned it onto a CD!
What are some of your hobbies?
I love to cook, bake, go thrifting, and collect vinyl records. I enjoy photography and video editing.
What are the top two items on your bucket list?
I want to learn how to play the guitar and treat myself to trying Omakase (once I can afford it).
