Earlier in her career, Sharon built her foundation in career development through vocational rehabilitation and roles as a counseling psychologist in clinical, hospital and psychiatric settings. She then applied this expertise within business schools, including Georgia State University and the University of Georgia, where she supported global MBA, EMBA & MS business career services. Across these schools, she launched career centers for 7 new satellite campuses, and designed custom career programs for 10 new business master’s degrees. Sharon is certified in a range of executive assessments, including Hogan, Talent Sage, Highlands, MBTI (Step I & II), Gallup CliftonStrengths, and Leadership Circle 360.

In her role at Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business, Sharon B. Cohen shapes the strategic vision for Executive MBA career and leadership development, ensuring programs align with evolving labor-market needs and advance meaningful professional outcomes. She created two new programs: the Executive Career Academy and a fully redesigned Executive Leadership Academy. Both emphasize experiential, competency-based learning and use peer coaching pods to give EMBA learners structured, monthly opportunities for reflection, accountability, and growth.
