Senior Energy Engineer, Ameresco

What was your favorite business course and why?

Collaborative Product Development was my favorite course because it brought together everything I enjoy: innovation, teamwork, and building something tangible from the ground up. Working with a team to develop a new product or service and create a business plan to bring it to market made the experience feel very real and applicable.

It also allowed me to tap into my engineering background through prototyping and design, while layering in key business concepts like market strategy, financials, and positioning. I appreciated how it blended technical thinking with broader business acumen, making it both challenging and rewarding.

What advice would you give to an incoming Evening MBA student?

It goes by faster than you expect, so take the time to really be present and appreciate it. One of the best parts of the Evening MBA is the people; everyone brings different backgrounds and perspectives, and there’s so much to learn from being around them. Make an effort to attend events and outings, even when you’re busy, because that’s where a lot of the real connections happen. Be open to those conversations because you never know who you’ll meet or how those relationships might shape your experience!

What activities were you involved with on or off campus, and did your business education  impact  those activities in any way?

During my MBA, I’ve been involved in Women in Business, Net Impact Club, Evening Student Ambassadors, and the Social Engagement Committee, which together gave me a well-rounded way to engage with the Scheller community. Women in Business allowed me to support and connect with other women navigating similar career paths, while Net Impact helped me stay grounded in sustainability through a business lens.

As an Evening Student Ambassador, I’ve enjoyed sharing my experience with prospective students and helping them better understand what Scheller has to offer. Through the Social Engagement Committee, I’ve had the chance to plan events that bring our community together, which has been especially meaningful in a part-time program. My business education has strengthened how I approach all of these, whether it’s thinking more strategically about impact, building stronger networks, or creating more intentional and inclusive experiences.

Where will you be working after graduation?

I’ll be continuing my work at Ameresco, where I lead the Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) program. At a high level, FDD uses data from building systems to catch when equipment isn’t operating as intended, helping facilities uncover issues that would otherwise go unnoticed. It’s exciting because the impact is tangible: driving energy savings, improving occupant comfort, and making operations more efficient by reducing manual troubleshooting. I’m especially looking forward to continuing to apply what I’ve learned at Scheller to make it even more impactful.

What will you be doing to celebrate your graduation?

Funny enough, I’ll be heading straight to Italy the day after graduation, so I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate! We’ll be exploring Rome, Cinque Terre, Florence, and Orvieto, soaking in the food, history, with a well-earned break after the MBA program. It’ll be the perfect mix of adventure and reset before jumping back into work.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I have two dogs named Peanut and Twinkie who keep me busy when I'm not doing homework or studying!

What's  your favorite place  you've  traveled to, and why?

Rwanda, through the International Practicum course, is one of my favorite places I’ve traveled. It’s not somewhere I would have necessarily chosen on my own, which made it an even more meaningful experience, especially getting to work directly with a Rwandan client. My team and I really made the most of our time, balancing our project work with cultural experiences and a few adventures, which made the whole trip unforgettable.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Winning International Young Energy Professional of the Year last year felt incredibly meaningful, not just as recognition of my work, but as a full-circle moment. Being able to stand on that stage and give a speech thanking those who helped shape me, while hopefully inspiring others coming up in the industry, is something I’ll always be proud of.

Favorite restaurant in Atlanta:

My favorite restaurant in Atlanta is Bones. It’s definitely on the more upscale side, so it’s not somewhere I go often, but that’s exactly what makes it feel special. Over time, it’s become a go-to for celebrating big moments or big news, which makes it feel even more memorable every time.
