Atalay Atasu, Dunn Family Professor and Area Coordinator of Operations Management

It is with great pleasure that we announce Atalay Atasu has been named the new departmental editor of the Sustainable Operations division of the Production and Operations Management Journal.

The Production and Operations Management Journal is one of the premier journals in Operations Management and the flagship journal of the Production and Operations Management Society. Atalay’s editorship provides great visibility of Scheller College and recognition of our thought leadership on sustainability-related issues.

Atalay’s research focus is on sustainable operations management, and his interests include product recovery economics, extended producer responsibility, and environmental regulation. His research has appeared in Management Science, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Industrial Ecology, and California Management Review. He is the recipient of a number of awards, including the Wickham Skinner Best Paper Award (2007 winner, 2014 runner-up), Wickham Skinner Early Career Research Award (2012), and Paul Kleindorfer Award in Sustainability (2013).
