As part of Georgia Tech's Pro Bono Consulting Program, students Tatiana Hamade (MBA '27), Rhea Bhalia (MBA '27), Ashi Sinha (MBA '27), and Amber May Barrington-Chappell (MBA '27) partnered with Remedy, a low-cost veterinary clinic backed by the Atlanta Humane Society, to help expand access to affordable pet care across Metro Atlanta.

Remedy's mission is to keep pets with the families who love them by providing high-quality, affordable veterinary care to underserved communities. While the organization's East Atlanta Village clinic has proven successful, demand continues to outpace capacity. The team was tasked with identifying the strongest location for Remedy's next clinic while ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

To support their recommendation, the students conducted a comprehensive market and community needs assessment, projected patient demand, evaluated operational feasibility, and developed a financial sustainability model. They also created a comparative scorecard to assess four potential locations using six key criteria: community need, projected demand, financial viability, strategic alignment, operational feasibility, and risk profile. The existing East Atlanta clinic served as the benchmark for comparison.

Based on their analysis, the team identified a site in Atlanta’s northwest area as the strongest overall recommendation, citing its combination of financial sustainability and alignment with Remedy’s mission. A second option in the city’s southwest area also emerged as compelling due to its significant unmet community need and strong equity impact.

The team also explored a long-term expansion strategy that demonstrated how opening clinics in both locations could create a sustainable two-clinic network. Their phased implementation timeline showed how revenue generated by the Bankhead location could help finance the West End clinic, creating a self-sustaining expansion model while extending affordable veterinary care to more underserved neighborhoods throughout Atlanta.

By taking the time to deeply understand both the data and the communities Remedy serves, the team delivered more than a site recommendation; they created a strategic roadmap for sustainable growth. Their thoughtful analysis will provide Remedy with a valuable decision-making framework that can guide its expansion and help more families access affordable veterinary care for years to come.
