The Institute for Leadership and Social Impact (ILSI) partners with 3D Girls, Inc., an Atlanta nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women through STEAM education, mentorship, and leadership. Since 2022, this collaboration has connected Georgia Tech students with meaningful, hands-on experiences while strengthening the organization’s mission. At the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact (ILSI), we believe that meaningful partnerships create lasting impact. One of our most rewarding collaborations has been with 3D Girls, Inc., an Atlanta-based nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering young women and girls through STEAM education, mentorship, and leadership development.

Since 2022, ILSI has partnered with 3D Girls, Inc. through the Ideas to Serve and Social Impact Fellows programs, and the MBA Pro Bono course, giving students the opportunity to apply their skills to real-world challenges while strengthening the organization’s mission. To highlight the impact of this partnership, we’re sharing perspectives from both sides: the reflections of 3D Girls, Inc.’s founder and the experiences of Georgia Tech students involved through the Social Impact Fellows program.

For Raioni Madison, founder and executive director of 3D Girls, Inc., the partnership has been transformative:

“Our partnership with ILSI at the Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech has been truly transformative for 3D Girls, Inc. This collaboration has been a powerful way to not only elevate our mission but also to empower the next generation of leaders.

Working with the Institute has provided us with a structured framework for innovation, helping us establish an intern program centered on social impact. This has opened new and exciting opportunities for our organization.”

Prateeksha Gupta (BSBA) – Spring 2025 Social Impact Fellow

As the Marketing & Communications Intern, Prateeksha played a central role in strengthening 3D Girls, Inc.’s outreach.

Favorite Project: “My favorite project was my final project in which I analyzed the marketing campaign performance over the semester and suggested strategies for maximum impact.”

Biggest Takeaway: “One of the biggest lessons I’ve taken away is how much a supportive team can truly shape your overall work experience. From the very first day, the 3D Girls, Inc. team welcomed me with positivity, encouragement, and genuine kindness which made adjusting to a new internship both easier and more enjoyable. Their openness created an environment where I always felt comfortable asking questions, seeking guidance, and learning from others without hesitation.”

Venya Gunjal (BME) – Fall 2025 Social Impact Fellow

As a current intern, Venya designs lesson plans to make STEAM education more engaging and accessible for young girls and she gets to test them firsthand.

Why She Applied: “I love working with children and students because of how exciting it is to see them express themselves and learn about the world around them at such a fun point in their life. I really loved that I would get the chance to help inspire these young girls to see all that’s possible for their futures.”

Typical Week: “Most of my work is based on designing new lesson plans and modifying existing ones to best fit 3D Girls, Inc.’s new curriculum guidelines. On Fridays, I come onsite (my favorite part)! Some weeks I visit Kindezi schools and help lead lessons with the girls. Other weeks, I’m in the office refining curriculum and collaborating with the team.”

Skills Gained: “I’ve learned so much about designing student-oriented curriculum and presenting some more complex concepts from STEAM in a way that is easier to understand for younger students. I’ve also sharpened my skills in sharing my ideas and collaborating on a team. This is my first official work experience within the nonprofit sector, and I truly love the work I am getting to do as a Social Impact Fellow.”
