Dean Maryam Alavi, Stephen P. Zelnak Jr. Chair in Management, Professor of IT Management, Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology.

As a researcher in the areas of digital innovations and strategic IT applications, Dr. Alavi has authored numerous published papers and served on the editorial boards of several prestigious business and technology journals. She is a sought-after speaker at national and international forums and conferences and has taught in executive programs at some of the world’s most prestigious business schools.

In recognition of her professional achievements, Dr. Alavi received the prestigious Association of Information Systems Fellows Award; an award given by peers in recognition of the recipient as a role model and inspiration to colleagues and students within the discipline. She was selected as the 2017 Woman of the Year for mid-size and educational institutions by the Women in Technology Foundation of Georgia. This award celebrates women in their visionary efforts to transform the world of business and technology.

Dr. Alavi was twice appointed by the Governor of the State of Georgia to the Georgia Technology Authority Board. She currently serves as a member of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Advisory Council of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Advisors of Valor Ventures, and the International Advisory Board of the Politecnico di Milano School of Management in Italy.

Dr. Rubina Ohanian is a senior advisor to clients in diverse industries assisting them with realizing desired business outcomes by utilizing her expertise in data analytics, AI, IoT, and emerging technologies. She leads a group of extremely bright, experienced and knowledgeable Data Scientists and Artificial Intelligence experts in the Southeastern U.S. working with client executives to help develop creative data and insights driven solutions and enabling them to face the technological challenges of today and the future.

Prior to joining Accenture, Dr. Ohanian was the Global Lead for Financial Service Center of Excellence at IBM and worked with global clients including Banorte Bank, Punjab & Sindh Bank, AXA Insurance, Allianz and MetLife Insurance. She has over 35 refereed journal publications and is a frequent speaker at domestic and international conferences.

She received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Petroleum Engineering, MBA in Finance & Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods & an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Advertising Measurement from the University of Texas at Austin.
