Prof. of Management and Special Advisor to the Provost, Alison Davis-Blake, will be joining us from University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
Alison Davis-Blake is the Leon Festinger Collegiate Professor of Management at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, where she also serves as Special Advisor to the Provost. She will be joining us for a discussion titled, "Who Owns the Public University? Ethical Implications of Declining State Support for Public Universities." The program will be held on Wednesday, November 9th at 11:00 AM in Room 312. Lunch will be provided. RSVP required!
From 2011-2016, Alison was the Dean of the Ross School of Business. From 2006-2011, she was Dean of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. From 2002-2006, she was Senior Associate Dean and Chair of the Department of Management at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin, where she had been a faculty member since 1990.
She received her Ph.D. in Business Administration from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. During her deanships, the schools she led were repeatedly recognized for their achievements in academic excellence, innovative academic programs, promoting diversity, and fund raising. She led comprehensive strategic planning processes during both of her deanships.
At Michigan Ross, a key element of the school’s new strategic planning was developing leaders who make a positive difference in the world—in the marketplace, in the workplace, and in local, national, and global communities.
