Scheller Lunchtime Live is a livestream series hosted by the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business featuring faculty, student, and alumni speakers discussing relevant topics for the tech-driven, digital age.

Dr. Tiffany Johnson’s Scheller classroom is a microcosm of the real-world workplace. For her students, the classroom becomes a space they can physically be in and study at the same time. Dr. Johnson sees the workplace as something more than a benign space. While it can foster negative experiences, it can also dismantle harmful practices.

In this Scheller Lunchtime Live session, Dr. Johnson talks about the connection between diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and how to foster well-being, especially among those who have historically been held at disparity. Dr. Johnson’s talk offers insights from a historical perspective: How did we get to this point—and what can we do from here to enact positive change?

Johnson’s presentation is inspired by her full body of research on stigmatization (i.e., devaluation) thus far, including a current research project she began in 2018 and teaching initiative she subsequently pursued as a 2020 – 2021 Georgia Tech Diversity and Inclusion Fellow.
