Jasmine Howard (MBA 2020) was selected as one of Poets&Quants' 2020 Best & Brightest MBAs.  Howard, who hails from Chattanooga, Tenn., received her B.S. in Marketing and International Business from the University of Tennessee. Prior to her enrollment in business school, Howard was an Account Manager at treetree Agency in Columbus, Ohio, and supported the two largest clients OhioHealth and Nationwide, by executing large scale live events and multichannel marketing campaigns.

Howard chose to pursue her MBA at the Scheller College of Business for a variety of reasons including the inclusive community, forward-thinking curriculum and exceptional career outcomes. She also chose Scheller because of its location in midtown Atlanta and its proximity to major companies and startups.

Howard took full advantage of her time in the MBA program at Scheller, serving as a Graduate Research Assistant with the Scheller College & Marketing Communications and Admissions departments, Head Chair of the Athletic Committee, an MBA Ambassador, a Peer Mentor and was involved in many clubs.

“The community at Scheller is very important to me, so I am most proud of my efforts to enhance the sense of belonging among classmates, alumni, and prospective students,” Howard said. “In general, I like to greet classmates in our Grad Commons lounge and in class, get to know everyone, and influence various committees and clubs to incorporate inclusive practices in their events. I strongly believe that feeling comfortable and confident in our community helps everyone make their own unique impact within our MBA program.”

Howard interned with the Product Marketing team at Mailchimp in Atlanta, supporting Growth and Merchandising initiatives. For her core internship project, she evaluated the Mailchimp.com conversion experience using a qualitative and quantitative methodology and recommended a condensed acquisition strategy for the website. Howard will be returning to Mailchimp as a Marketing Manager following graduation. She will continue to evolve the web experience through improved personalization and UX experimentation.

“Jasmine has made an impact on her classmates and to future Scheller MBAs,” said Katie Lloyd, Assistant Dean, MBA programs. “She cares about her peers and her efforts have helped create a close-knit student body. Jasmine is the consummate community-builder and is committed to ensuring each person feels like they belong. When Jasmine leaves Scheller in May to join Mailchimp as a marketing manager, she will leave it better than she found it. While we will miss Jasmine’s dedication and enthusiasm for the program tremendously, I anticipate we will see those same factors as a dedicated alumna.”

The Poets & Quants “Best and Brightest MBAs” list annually celebrates a small number of students from scores of entries who have made a lasting impact on their business schools. In the selection process, Poets & Quants reviewed input from students and considered academic performance, extracurricular achievements, professional potential, and personal stories.
