James “Robbie” Moon, Accounting assistant professor, has been appointed to the Hubert L. Harris Early Career Professorship. Robbie joined Scheller College in 2018. 

His research examines factors that affect the usefulness of information relevant for valuing investments, including firm disclosures, audit opinions, and information produced by intermediaries. Much of his recent research focuses on how and when emerging technologies, such as social media, can be useful for evaluating investments, especially by retail investors.

He has published extensively in the premier accounting journals and presents his work at many national and international conferences. Robbie won the Georgia Power Professor of Excellence in 2019, among other notable recognitions, and teaches a variety of courses to both MBAs and undergraduates, advises PhD students, and provides worthy service to Scheller College.
