What do a film society programming manager, a financial services rep, an MA candidate in culture/theology, and an Army captain have in common? All four will be starting their life-changing journey through the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business Full-time MBA program this August. Meet these four incoming students, whose backgrounds range from teaching sixth grade English and social studies to consulting with foreign militaries across central and east Asia.
Are you interested in joining these students in fall 2020? The Full-time MBA program is still accepting applications. To speak with an advisor about how your experience and goals may fit with the program, schedule a consultation by emailing mbateam@scheller.gatech.edu.

Why did you pick Scheller’s Full-time MBA program?
I was drawn to Scheller's program for a number of reasons, including its emphasis on the intersection of business and technology. I appreciated the program’s opportunities for hands-on learning. Everyone at Scheller has been so warm and welcoming. I love that I'll be part of a small, tight knit community.
What background and experience are you excited to bring to Scheller?
I'm excited to bring my experience building relationships, taking initiative, and thinking creatively. I've been able to develop these skills in my previous roles, whether I was managing last minute requests from producer clients at a top talent agency, negotiating terms and managing logistics for visiting actors for Atlanta’s largest film festival, or developing and leading programs with strategic community partners to promote multicultural understanding. I'm eager to share my nontraditional background with the Scheller community.
What do you want your future classmates to know about you?
I'm passionate about community work and am involved with several organizations focused on human rights, education, and interfaith understanding. I am also a big musical theater person and sing in the choir at my synagogue. I have three rescue pets - two cats and a new dog. I've also been a pretty prolific baker during quarantine, so there may be treats somewhere down the line for my future classmates!

What do you want your future classmates to know about you?
I have an artistic and humorous approach to life. When I’m not making dad jokes, I’m creating music and taking pictures of unique foods from local restaurants and travels.

Why did you pick Scheller’s Full-time MBA program?
From the outset, Scheller stood apart for its technology-based emphasis. Especially given the current climate surrounding COVID-19, technology is more and more essential within business, and individuals who can leverage those skills will become increasingly more vital within organizations. I was also incredibly drawn to Scheller's commitment to diversity and sustainability, both of which are incredibly important values to me. I'm excited to be moving back to the Southeast to be near family and old friends, and the location and welcoming community of Scheller makes that reality that much sweeter.
What background and experience are you excited to bring to Scheller?
I don't have the "typical" business background. I started my undergrad as an architecture student, before graduating in psychology. Afterwards, I taught sixth grade English and social studies at a Title I school, before working for a year at a small business. I'm currently in a Master of Arts program where I've spent my time focusing my studies on how our places and life stories shape us. Because of all these experiences, I am incredibly passionate about relationships, and I firmly believe they are central to both business success and life fulfillment.
What do you want your future classmates to know about you?
I'm a huge fitness junkie. I've coached soccer and cross country, taught spin classes, been a Crossfit trainer, and run countless road races. When I'm not focused on school, career, clubs, or networking, I will for sure be getting involved in athletics or be found at the Georgia Tech CRC.

Why did you pick Scheller’s Full-time MBA program?
Transitioning from a combat arms role in the Army to a career in consulting is no small task. For my career pivot, I wanted a full-time program with engaging career services and great faculty to student ratios. I also looked for schools with highly ranked business analytics and strategy programs. With the added benefits of being in Atlanta and receiving an unmatched ROI, Scheller became the clear choice for me.
What background and experience are you excited to bring to Scheller?
During my seven years as an Army officer I had the privilege of leading diverse teams of up to 60 soldiers towards a common operational objective. Thirty-two months of that time was spent partnering with foreign militaries across central and east Asia and consulting them on strategic operational implementation and process refinement.
I’ve been to 23 countries and almost every state but I’m a Georgia boy from the beginning. I enjoy functional fitness, college football, and bird hunting with my dog Remmi. I’m extremely driven, social, and thrilled to meet my future classmates!
