What exactly makes up a diverse, industry-spanning Scheller College of Business Evening MBA class? Well, you could start with a development services professional in the construction industry and add a financial analyst from Verizon Wireless. Drop-in an engineer from Coca Cola, and top it off with a Georgia Tech alumna working in healthcare, and that is just a part of what makes up one of our most interesting, diverse Evening MBA cohorts yet.

Are you interested in joining Scheller’s self-paced, part-time MBA program in fall 2020? We are still accepting applications. To speak with an advisor about how your experience and goals may fit with the program, schedule a one-on-one consultation.

Why did you pick Scheller’s Evening MBA program?
I chose Scheller's Evening MBA program because of its immersive, technology-centric curriculum. With Georgia Tech’s location at the epicenter of Atlanta's Tech Square, I am confident that I can obtain the experience and exposure I require to accelerate my short and long-term goals.

What background and experience are you excited to bring to the Scheller community?
Over the last 10 years, I have had a tenacious passion for helping energy industry companies adapt to new ways of thinking and embrace digital transformation to drive differentiated value and outcomes. It would be a pleasure to share my perspective on how companies can leverage digital technology to shape their operations.

What do you want your future classmates to know about you?
Overall, I govern myself by the following principles: delivering on my commitments, being a collaborative team member, and always exuding positive vibes and good energy.

Why did you pick Scheller's Evening MBA program?
A couple of years ago, I traveled to Atlanta for a business trip.  I was staying at the Georgia Tech Hotel, and after a long day at the conference, I walked over to the Starbucks across the street to grab a drink.  As I was waiting, I went shopping at the Barnes and Noble and grabbed myself a Yellow Jackets shirt as a souvenir.  I would have never imagined that a couple years later I would be calling Atlanta home and Georgia Tech my future alma mater.

I've supported many different sectors throughout my career and regardless of industry, there has always been an underlying issue of inefficiencies. Technology is the language of the future and there are many tools available to bridge those gaps. Georgia Tech being at the forefront of that mission is a large part of why I chose Scheller's Evening MBA program.

What background and experience are you excited to bring to the Scheller Community?
I'm excited to bring my industry experience, along with my passion and drive to innovate.  At a previous company, I had the opportunity to use robotics and big data analytics to introduce efficiencies to our monthly processes.  It was an eye-opening experience because I saw how technology could positively impact our future.

What do you want your future classmates to know about you?
I'm a first-generation Egyptian America and because of that I know how hard it was for my parents to have come here with nothing and grow that into a strong foundation to provide my siblings with opportunities they never had. I recently moved to Atlanta from New Jersey and it’s been awesome exploring the city and everything it has to offer. I'm already a huge Atlanta United fan and I'm looking forward to many more new experiences!

Why did you pick Scheller’s Evening MBA program?
I got a taste of what the Scheller curriculum has to offer during my undergraduate experience at Georgia Tech as a biomedical engineering major. That small introduction made the MBA program at Scheller first on my list when evaluating schools. I am excited that this program is a diverse learning environment with people from various industries and backgrounds.

What background and experience are you excited to bring to the Scheller community?
I am looking forward to sharing my experience in healthcare with my classmates. I have the opportunity to work with a wide cross-section of roles within the hospital system. Balancing unique perspectives and goals has been a challenging experience but one that can be applied to any industry.

What do you want your future classmates to know about you?
I’m a major film enthusiast, and I love going to concerts. I grew up going to a performing arts school and still take dance classes now.

Why did you pick Scheller’s Evening MBA program?
I’ve seen that innovation is no longer limited to new product development and that technology is being used in new and exciting ways to transform traditional business models. As the landscape continues to change, cross-functional capabilities and the know how to identify business needs as well as understand and implement technological solutions is critical. Scheller has created a unique blend of business and technical savvy that I believe will prepare me to take the next steps in my career.

What background and experience are you excited to bring to the Scheller community?
I’m excited to bring a mixture of both big and small company perspectives. Early in my career, I was a part of a small start-up that experienced explosive growth during my tenure there.  As I grew in the organization, I moved from technical development into a business role interfacing with clients and was responsible for the commercial launch of an internally developed product. As a young inexperienced company, we learned a lot of lessons the hard way, but we also had the flexibility to try different models to find what worked best for us.

In my current role at The Coca-Cola Company, I’ve had great opportunities to learn the processes and procedures that have made the company successful for over 100 years. As a part of Coca Cola’s emphasis on developing a lattice of work experience, I’ve also been able to take on stretch assignment roles with various commercial groups. It has been incredibly valuable to see how a massive corporation like Coca-Cola evaluates commercial opportunities versus the small company experiences from earlier in my career.

What do you want your future classmates to know about you?
My wife and I are originally from Texas and are still relatively new to the Atlanta area. We are always looking for suggestions on good food (particularly Mexican food) or fun activities. If things re-open this year, we’re hoping to do a weekend trip to Savannah and another to Ashville, and of course, go to our first Georgia Tech football game! Always feel free to reach out and we can grab coffee…or if it’s a weekend I’m a sucker for a margarita!
