U.S. News & World Report Article on Budgeting Tools Features Finance Professor Jonathan Clarke

Jonathan Clarke, associate professor of Finance, was quoted in a recent U.S. News and World Report article “Ten Simple and Free Budgeting Tools” which looks at some free budgeting tools to help you stay on track.

Clarke says one of the biggest challenges is sticking with a budget over time. People “tend to focus on balancing their budget for the month or over a short-time horizon,” he says.  “Planning for larger expenses such as a house, child-care or home expenses will come easier with a balanced budget.”

He continues, “If you struggle with keeping up with your finances, consider putting yourself on a budget. Using the right tool to track your expenses will give you more power over your money. Sticking to a budget will also help you plan for larger expenses in the future.”

With multiple budgeting tools to choose from, you can be on your way to a more stable financial future much easier than going it alone.
