Scheller College is proud to announce that Amy Evans and Maureen Portee have been selected by Poets & Quants (P&Q) as “The Best & Brightest EMBAs” for the Class of 2018. The P&Q “Best and Brightest EMBAs” list annually celebrates students who’ve made a lasting impact on their business schools.

Amy and Maureen were chosen as one of 100 featured students representing over 40 business schools throughout the world. In the selection process, P&Q reviewed input from students and considered academic performance, extracurricular achievements, professional potential, and personal stories.

Maureen Portee works at SunTrust, currently leading the Sales Integrity team for the Consumer segment. While at Scheller College, Maureen was elected to the Student Leadership Team (SLT) for the EMBA Class of 2018. “SLT provided the opportunity for me to give back to a program that has already had such a profound impact on my professional and personal development,” Maureen said of her extracurricular involvement. Maureen’s classmate Benardo Rich contributed to her nomination, describing Maureen’s impact on the EMBA program: “Her unselfish ability to place others first, willingness to mentor any knowledge seeker, and uncanny sense of integrity are all leadership qualities that her peers recognize immediately.”

While completing the EMBA Program, Amy Evans worked at NCR as Global University Relations Leader. Dean Maryam Alavi contributed to her nomination, noting, “It is Amy’s commitment to learning and inspiring others that sets her apart. Amy always gives 110% and never stops with new ideas and innovations in her work.” Amy was instrumental in setting up this year’s Executive MBA Global Strategy Project capstone with NCR, and she has been actively involved in aligning a number of other NCR strategic initiatives to Georgia Tech project-based MBA courses.

Cynthia Lynch, Director of Executive MBA Student Engagement, remarked, “Amy and Maureen are exemplary leaders within our program and their companies. We’re proud to celebrate their accomplishments and are thrilled that our Executive MBA students are being recognized on a national level.” Please join us in congratulating Amy and Maureen for this honor!
