As part of our Countdown to Commencement series, we interviewed a few soon-to-be graduates from our undergraduate and MBA programs to learn about their backgrounds, why they chose Scheller College, and what they plan to do after Fall 2018 Commencement.

Meet Claire Kirkpatrick:

Claire hails from Valdosta, Georgia, and is completing her undergraduate Business Administration degree with a concentration in Supply Chain Operations. The self-described “happy individual who is passionate about serving others” says that the top two items on her bucket list are “to travel to South Africa and to complete a triathlon.”

Where did you intern/co-op and when? What projects did you work on during your internship?

First, I interned with Georgia-Pacific, June 2016 - May 2017. My projects fell within the sourcing and procurement departments, specifically in relation to the Direct Materials team. I also interned with Amigos for Christ in the summer 2017 as a Community Development intern. I worked in Nicaragua with this organization to bring clean water, health care, education, and economic opportunity to rural communities in need. (I specifically served as a liaison between members of the community and new volunteers.) Finally, I interned with Chick-fil-A, Summer 2018; I worked on the Sourcing team creating contingency plans for Chick-fil-A’s Supply Chain.

Where will you be working after graduation?

I’ll be working for Insight Sourcing Group.

Hobbies?

Running, dancing, eating, and taking long strolls throughout Atlanta.

“If I hadn’t gone to business school…”

If I hadn’t gone to business school, I would be pursuing a career in social work and probably heading back to Nicaragua.

What are the top two items on your bucket list?

To travel to South Africa and to complete a triathlon.

In one sentence, how would you like your peers to remember you?

I would like my peers to remember me as someone who was genuinely kind and invested in others.
