Distinguished Guest Speaker, Mr. Gregory Owens, Former CEO of IronPlanet and Manugistics presents, "Ethics, Judgement and Decision Making"

 

Gregory J. Owens was the Chairman and CEO of IronPlanet from 2007 to June 2017. Through Mr. Owens’ strong business and financial acumen, he led IronPlanet through its business expansion both domestically and internationally until its recent sale to Ritchie Bros (NYSE:RBA) for $758M. His broad business experience and vision has resulted in substantial growth acceleration across a number of companies in which Mr. Owens has held executive level roles.

Greg Owens

Prior to IronPlanet, Mr. Owens served as Managing Director of RedZone Capital. Mr. Owens and RedZone Capital’s Managing Partner, Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins, focused on turning around and growing under-performing companies.

Prior to RedZone Capital, Mr. Owens served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Manugistics Group Inc. (NASDAQ:MANU), a global enterprise software solutions company, from April 1999 to July 2004. Mr. Owens was responsible for growing Manugistics from annual revenues of approximately $150 million to more than $325 million. Mr. Owens received numerous awards including: Maryland Technology CEO of the year, Washington Titan of Business, Mid-Atlantic Technology Entrepreneur of the Year, and Semi Finalist Silicon Valley Entrepreneur of the Year.

Mr. Owens also served as Global Managing Partner Supply Chain Management of Andersen Consulting (Accenture) (NYSE:ACN). Mr. Owens was one of the founding members of the Supply Chain Group, and was responsible for growing the group to revenues of over $1.4 billion annually.

He holds a B.S. in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology, serves as a Georgia Tech Foundation Trustee, and as a member of the Scheller College of Business Advisory Board.

Mr. Owens serves, or has served, on several outside boards including S1 Corporation, Serena Software, Xeeva, PRGX, Ally Commerce, 3VR, Guardian Analytics and SecureWorks
