About the Piedmont Driving Club
Founded in 1887 originally as the Gentlemen's Driving Club, the name reflected the interest of the members to "drive" their horse and carriages on the club grounds. The club briefly used the adjacent grounds as a golf course until it sold the land to the city of Atlanta in 1904 to create Piedmont Park. In 2000, Rees Jones designed the Piedmont Driving Club’s current golf course residing in Atlanta’s College Park neighborhood.
