Her research is motivated by a desire to understand how people align themselves with others, whether through vertical differences (i.e., hierarchy) or shared values (i.e., social identity). In her research on hierarchy, she examines how acceptance of socially constructed hierarchy affects employee behavior and interactions with others by focusing on power and status within teams, organizations, and society. In her research on social identity, she examines how people define themselves in terms of work relationships by focusing on relational identification.
Her work has been featured in Organization Science and invited to revise for the Journal of Applied Psychology.
