Biography

Priyank Arora joined the Scheller College of Business in the fall of 2013. He wishes to contribute to management science by working on research problems in the field of socially and environmentally responsible operations. Currently, topics related to healthcare operations (e.g., organ donation value chain), nonprofit operations (e.g., resource allocation, funding), and sustainability pique his interest. He employs analytical (for instance, game-theoretic and optimization models) and empirical (for instance, event study) techniques to generate insights for advancing operational decision-making within and across organizations in the presence of social and environmental responsibility. Online copies of his published and working research papers are available below. Priyank’s work with Dr. Ravi Subramanian, titled, “Improving Societal Outcomes in the Organ Donation Value Chain,” was recognized as the 2016 INFORMS Public Sector Operations Research (PSOR) Section Best Paper at the INFORMS annual conference in Nashville (November 2016). Priyank received the College of Business’ Ashford Watson Stalnaker Memorial Prize in 2017, which is awarded to recognize PhD students "who contribute exemplary scholarship and innovation through outstanding research and teaching."

Priyank’s teaching interests are in core operations/supply chain management concepts and their interrelationships with societal and environmental responsibilities. He currently teaches the core operations management course in the undergraduate program at the Scheller College of Business. He was chosen as the Graduate Student Instructor of the Year in 2017.  His pedagogical contributions include the follwoing HBR case studies: Aahan: Diagnosing Tuberculosis in Rural India, and Moser Baer and OM&T - Choosing a Strategic Partner.
