Dr. Venkateswaran teaches in the operations area. While newly arrived at Georgia Tech (Fall 2016), he has however been teaching for many years in operations. Numerous internship and project opportunities exist for students in operations. At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Dr. Venkateswaran mentored numerous students on their capstone industry projects.  Practices in operations are sometimes best learned through field trips and Dr. Venkateswaran has in the past led student groups to Germany for his course in sustainable manufacturing. He is also experienced in blended learning having taught several graduate courses for working professionals in that mode.

Dr. Venkateswaran has been active in consulting and for the last four summers has been doing research at the Air Force Labs in Rome, New York, on the Visiting Faculty Research Program. Prior to academia he was for several years a Principal Technical Staff Member at AT&T Labs in Holmdel, New Jersey, in the Operations Research Department.
