Biography

Necati Tereyağoğlu is Assistant Professor of Operations Management and Business Analytics at Scheller College of Business of Georgia Tech. The core of his research program lies in exploring new demand-management decisions to provide guidance for the firms to create and extract value from their innovative products or services. In this endeavor, he utilizes diverse empirical and analytical methods to investigate and document behavioral factors and different buying behaviors, and suggest adjustments needed in operational decisions to improve the profit- or revenue-generating capability of organizations. So far, he had the opportunity to work on pricing and revenue management problems in luxury industry, in creative industries such as performing arts, and in packaged food industry. Recently, he focuses on the effectiveness of different pricing policies in the bike-sharing economy. His research has been published in journals such as Management Science, and Production and Operations Management.

He has taught Pricing Analytics and Revenue Management and Operations Management at the Scheller College of Business. He has received the Full-time MBA Elective Professor of the Year Award in 2016 and 2017, and the Evening MBA Elective Professor of the Year Award in 2018.

Dr. Tereyağoğlu earned an M.A. in Statistics during his Ph.D. studies and received his Ph.D. in 2012 at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Bilkent University, Turkey.
