Hackett has deep marketing experience, including working as the Chief Marketing Officer of Sawa Credit, a Silicon Valley startup striving to reduce disparity in homeownership. He has over two decades of demonstrated strengths in problem-solving and cross-functional leadership, delivering results in Fortune 500 companies, emerging organizations, and academia. His marketing expertise includes brand management, digital marketing, new business development, and initiative deployment. His category experience includes food/beverage, health/beauty, laundry care, baby care, and financial services.
Hackett has launched successful product innovations such as Folgers ground flavored coffee and Healthy Choice's Asian steamed meals, resulting in first-year revenues of $10MM and $23MM, respectively. He has managed business unit brand portfolios such as The oneCARE Company’s $60MM fabric care business unit featuring Dryel and several Procter & Gamble licensed brands. Hackett has balanced his line management success with corporate mastery experience in roles such as Procter & Gamble’s Multicultural Marketing Senior Brand Manager where he built affinity with African American and Hispanic consumers.
Hackett is the author of 80/20 Brand: Brand Building with a P&G Edge, a book that details how leaders can build their businesses by thinking like Procter & Gamble Brand Managers. Hackett serves as the strategic planning committee chair for the Atlanta International School board of trustees. Before Marketing, Hackett worked for several years as an Engineer and Information Technology professional at Bechtel National, Incorporated. Hackett has an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business, an MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
