Why did you choose to attend Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business?
I made my decision to attend the Scheller College of Business when I came to a Shadow Day held by the Scheller Business Ambassadors and saw the endless opportunities that I would have if I enrolled here. I immediately realized that Scheller was among the best undergraduate programs available at Tech or anywhere in the country. I could go on forever about how amazing the program is, but I recommend you come see for yourself!
What is your favorite thing about the Undergraduate Program?
My favorite thing about being a student at Scheller is the community. All of our classes are housed in one building and that allows students to make stronger connections. For example, when I am walking to class, I’ll often see a few of my professors, some of my fellow students, or my advisor. Scheller is a very tight-knit community, and I love that there’s always someone new to meet.
What has your experience been like outside of the classroom?
I have joined numerous clubs and organizations so far, and I have enjoyed being a part of every one of them! Georgia Tech offers more than 400 student organizations across campus, so the the opportunities certainly don’t stop at Scheller.

What’s your favorite thing about the Undergraduate Program?
The true value of the business program, in my opinion, lies with its people. The Scheller College is home to some of the most vibrant, diverse and inspiring people I have ever met. They have made all the difference in my experience here, both professionally and personally.
What has your experience been like with Scheller College's Career Services?
The Career Services at Scheller have been essential to all of my successful professional achievements as a student. The advice and guidance offered by the staff, especially Ms. Lauren McDow, have been instrumental to every positive outcome that I have experienced. The Career Services at Scheller have dramatically increased the quality of my experience at Georgia Tech.
What have your internship experiences been like?
Interning for Congressman John Lewis was one of the best experiences of my life . I was able to apply my business education to help find solutions for Atlanta’s foreclosure crisis, as well as advocate for important social reform on the national level. Being a part of these efforts was exciting and deeply fulfilling.
Working for British Consulate-General Atlanta was also very rewarding. I was proud to contribute to projects aimed at reaffirming and strengthening our nations’ important bond, including global efforts to promote free trade and protect human rights.
What has your academic experience at Scheller College been like?
I have found my academic experience at Scheller to be both rigorous and rewarding. I have especially enjoyed my courses in finance, ethics, and law. These courses have opened my mind, given me a better idea of what I hope to do with my life, and taught me a great deal about myself. I hope to pursue a career in politics and advocacy. Scheller has given me essential tools to make a meaningful difference in the world.

How do you feel about the academic experience at Scheller College?
The faculty and staff at Scheller are your greatest resource, and they want to see you succeed. Professors are always willing to meet with you to discuss issues, and the staff are always there to help you plan your time at Tech and beyond.
What have your internship experiences been like?
Internships are a great way to see the topics you learn in class put into real-world situations. My first internship was with the Medical Center of Central Georgia. While I was there, I was involved with the implementation of the Care Logistics model that would ultimately allow the hospital to use their time more efficiently when treating patients and therefore minimize the amount of time that the patient was kept in the facility.
What are your career goals?
Upon graduating from Georgia Tech, my goal is to take a position in supply chain with a manufacturing or retail company. My goal is to work in that position for a few years, before returning to school to earn a Master’s in Business Administration. I am concentrating my undergraduate studies on Operations and Supply Chain Management. I chose this concentration because I found that the material came naturally to me. Logistics are what enable businesses to operate, and making sure that they run as efficiently as possible is critical for success. I have thoroughly enjoyed the courses in this concentration, and can easily apply them to the working world.
Has Scheller's Career Services helped you?
Scheller proudly boasts the highest job placement rate on campus. This would not be possible without Scheller’s Career Services team. Through workshops and the Career Development class, we are very well prepared for their job searches and can feel confident that we will find great jobs at graduation.

What’s your favorite thing about the Undergraduate Program?
From the moment that I stepped on campus, I knew that I was now a part of a community. The Scheller College of Business faculty and staff have gotten to know me as a person, not only a name on a future diploma. The connections that I have made with people in the College of Business have given me a home away from home, and honestly that is the best thing I could have ever asked for.
Have you studied abroad?
The summer after my freshman year, I was able to participate in the Oxford study abroad program. I spent my summer going to over a dozen countries, countless cities, and immersing myself into unknown cultures. Studying abroad is an experience that teaches you about the world around you, but what I found more than anything else is that I left Europe having learned more about myself. I became comfortable with being uncomfortable, I learned that world grows smaller the more places you go, and yet I also learned that there is always more to learn.
What have your internship experiences been like?
My summer 2013 internship experience was a dream come true. While I was working at Spanx, I was able to recognize that the Scheller College of Business’s well-rounded core education put me ahead of the curve. I was working in operations, and yet I understood the marketing and the finance behind our decisions.
Did winning a Dean's Scholarship influence your decision to attend Tech?
When I received the Dean’s Scholarship, there was no longer a question of where I would attend college. I knew that by receiving this scholarship I would have a great opportunity to meet with influential alumni and gain a relationship with many of them. The relationships that I have developed because of the scholarship have been immeasurable, and I am beyond thankful for the opportunities this scholarship has given me.
