Scheller Goes Inside Microsoft

The Scheller x Microsoft partnership is a symbiotic one. With an office in Atlanta, Microsoft provides Georgia Tech students with numerous internship opportunities and promising careers in information technology and business applications. In turn, Scheller students and alumni contribute their technical expertise and business acumen across various domains, including development, sales, marketing, and project management.

The Microsoft site is located in West Midtown in Atlantic Yards, in one of the two-towered buildings in Atlantic Station, a community of retail shops, restaurants, theaters, offices, hotels, and homes. It's a short 15-minute drive from the Georgia Tech campus and easily accessible to I-85 and I-75.

The colorful Microsoft sign is prominently displayed outside the multi-storied brick building as you walk toward their office. The lobby offers comfy couches and chairs, a coffee bar, and a reception area where guests sign in.

One floor offers visitors the opportunity to see "The Garage Atlanta," an ample open space with floor-to-ceiling windows and chic concrete floors. It's one of 14 worldwide Microsoft Garage locations where innovation and creativity are unleashed to inspire interaction and learning. Here, employees gather for inspirational talks and workshops with special guests and for collaboration on fresh ideas and hackathon projects. It also houses a maker space where employees can work on fabrication and prototyping equipment.
