What's something on your bucket list? 

Diving the U-352, a German U-boot off the North Carolina coast, sunk during WW II. I’d also like to travel through Japan. 

What actor would you cast to play yourself in a movie about yourself and why? 

Matt Damon 

What's your favorite place you've traveled to and why?  

Actually, my least favorite place to visit (but I’m glad I went) had the most profound impact on my life: Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps. These places are hell on earth, pure evil.  

Favorite family tradition: 

My favorite family traditions revolve around going on ski vacations. 

What is your proudest accomplishment? 

My proudest accomplishments include raising six awesome kids and helping my students achieve their professional goals. 

What did you want to be when you were small?  

First a I wanted to be a kid, and then a teenager doing teenage stuff. 

What is your latest book recommendation? 

“American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road” by Nick Bilton and “Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty” by Patrick Radden Keefe
