Wayne Fu received his M.E. in manufacturing at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and an M.B.A. from the University of Warwick in England. Prior to returning to pursue his Ph.D., he worked in various capacities for more than a decade. He spent years in the consulting branch of a technology firm advising clients, mostly Fortune 500 multi-national enterprises that range from military defense to consumer electronics industries, on their operations and supply chain planning. He later became the director of product management in a large software firm, led a team to define product strategies, and coordinated development activities. For a short period of time, he was an operations manager in the establishment of an overseas research center. In his last appointment, he participated in researching an algorithm of product life-cycle pattern-recognition in collaboration with professors at a major university. Strongly associated with his profound industrial experience, his research interests are the management of closed-loop supply chains, sustainable operations management, behavioral operations, and new product development.
