Hometown: Buffalo, NY

What's something on your bucket list?

I would like to visit Japan to see where my stepmom grew up.

What actor would you cast to play yourself in a movie about yourself and why?

Anna Kendrick. I find her humor and energy infectious.

What's your favorite place you've traveled to and why?

Italy. The history and art was breathtaking and the food was divine.

Favorite family tradition:

My grandma’s birthday is July 4th, so we always have a lovely meal to celebrate her. This year was her 96th and regardless of where our family is, we all come home.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Receiving my Ph.D. and running a sub five mile are close to the top for personal accomplishments, but meeting and eventually marrying my best friend (Greg) takes the cake.

What did you want to be when you were small?

I wanted to be an artist, though I am not artistically inclined.

What is your latest book recommendation?

I spend a lot of time reading research articles (which I wouldn’t recommend to most people), thus most of my relaxation time is spent on shows rather than popular press books. I would recommend the following shows: “The Office,” “Parks and Rec,” “30 Rock,” “Big Bang Theory,” and “Community.”

Your life story in one sentence:

Born and raised in Buffalo (#BillsMafia), Atlanta transplant, proud Georgia Tech fan, coffee connoisseur, dog lover, and strong family ties.

My favorite restaurant in Atlanta:

Woody’s CheeseSteaks has been a go to for delivery and Mirko Pasta has been a go to for dine-in. I also have to give a shout out to Ira Lane (my favorite coffee place), which I frequent more than any restaurant in Atlanta.

My favorite comfort food or family recipe:

My Grandma’s chicken rice and my aunt’s angel food cake with homemade chocolate frosting.
