Georgia Tech Scheller Introduces “Financial Modeling in Excel” Executive Education Course

Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business Executive Education is excited to announce a new “Financial Modeling in Excel” course beginning in June 2021. Professionals will learn about the theory and application of various financial models as well Excel functions and data analysis tools.

Financial modeling is an invaluable skill in building and valuing a business, conducting forecasting and budgeting, looking at acquisition possibilities, and more. In this course, professionals come away with the tools they need to build a working financial model, three-statement model, discounted cash flow (DCF) valuation, and comparable analysis. These skills prove valuable for professionals in all industries but they are especially applicable to individuals interested in investment banking, financial planning, and other areas of finance.

The course is taught by Dr. Jacqueline Garner, who has held various financial analyst positions prior to her work in academia. She has published in numerous academic journals such as The Journal of Finance, The Journal of Business, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Financial Management, among others. Her research focuses on corporate finance; more specifically, she studies issues related to initial public offerings, corporate governance, and investment bank compensation.

The course meets virtually on June 15, 22, 29, and July 6, 13. Participants receive a Georgia Tech Certificate of Completion and Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Registration is now open.
