Georgia Trend’s May Issue Features Scheller College’s Associate Dean Brian Jennings and Recent Alumnus Jamie Foss

A story in Georgia Trend’s May issue titled "Mastering the Future" highlights Scheller College of Business’ experiential learning opportunities as well as the convergence of technology and business – which is perfectly aligned with Scheller College’s unique positioning at the intersection of business and technology.

In the article, Jaime Foss, associate in Ultimate Software’s MBA rotation program, notes that “it was essential to learn how to work in teams to solve business problems.” He stated that the Technology Innovation: Generating Economic Results (TI:GER) was a key driver in his decision to attend Scheller College. He talked about his TI:GER project as well as his five other practicum courses that provided hands-on opportunities, real-world business problems, and client interactions that were invaluable. Foss attributes his job post-MBA graduation to his experiential learning combined with his newfound interest in data analytics. He is working as an associate in Ultimate Software’s MBA rotation program. He believes his experience at Scheller prepared him and helped him develop the skills he needs to be successful in his future endeavors.

Brian Jennings, associate dean Scheller College MBA programs and Executive Education, highlighted the new Innovation Fellows program at Scheller that “allows the tech square innovation centers to tap into students’ expertise and get a first look at talent, while providing the students with hands-on experience.”

While many things have changed in business schools, the article notes what hasn’t changed is the value of the education. “An MBA is all about career advancement,” says Jennings. “The MBA is still without question the most highly regarded, valued business credential in the market.”
