Scheller College Named Top 10 Business School to Watch in 2018

Poets & Quants for Undergrads has named Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech among the top ten undergraduate business schools to watch in 2018. This recognition follows the publication’s latest ranking results in 2017, which in its first year of participating, placed Scheller College as #1 in undergraduate business programs in the state of Georgia, #5 for public universities, and #11 in the U.S.

Poets & Quants for Undergrads reports, “With high alumni survey scores in key areas like academic advising, networking, and overall experience, Scheller could evolve into a top 10 [overall ranking] fixture in the coming years.”

The excitement behind Scheller College’s forward trajectory comes as a result of the opportunities provided to its students at Georgia Tech and the Tech Square ecosystem surrounding the College. Scheller College students have a unique advantage of being next door to more than 100 startups, over 50 incubators and accelerators, and more than 20 innovation centers, and they benefit from living in Atlanta, which is home to 17 of the world’s Fortune 500 headquarters.

Beyond Tech Square, Scheller College also has the benefit of being an integral college within Georgia Institute of Technology, a world-renowned technological research university with its own formidable and entrepreneurial environment. Scheller College students have access to unique program offerings like the Stephen A. Denning Technology and Management (T&M) Program, a two-year course of study where undergraduate students from across the Institute learn together while preserving disciplinary depth in their different major fields of study. Denning T&M students also collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive solutions to real-world problems sponsored by the program's corporate affiliates. The experience students gain during their time at Scheller College is invaluable and prepares them for a strong future following graduation.

Poets & Quants states, “Going in, 86% of Scheller College business majors ranked among the top 10% of their high school classes.” Beyond the appeal of a studying among impressive peers, Scheller College’s relationship with corporate partners also attracts top students. Doug Sawyer, Vice President of Long Term Asset Strategy at Georgia-Pacific notes, “Over the eight years we’ve been associated with the program, we’ve been able to attract a number of really capable students to come work for us.”

As student clubs, internships, alumni involvement, and student enthusiasm continue to evolve at Scheller College, the intersection of business and technology gets stronger. Technology is a driving force of business, and Scheller College graduates are leading the way.
