Craig Womack, Assistant Dean & Director of Undergraduate Programs, was selected as the GT 1000 Outstanding Instructor of the Year at Georgia Institute of Technology.
“GT 1000 immerses incoming students in the culture of the Scheller College of Business and provides them with the soft skills necessary to succeed in Business. It’s a very important course and I’m so delighted that Craig was recognized with this honor,” says Jonathan Clarke, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs .
Currently, over 130 instructors across Georgia Tech teach GT 1000, a seminar course for first-year students covering academic success strategies, educational and service opportunities, academic major and career exploration, and resume preparation.
“Craig and the entire undergraduate office have devoted a great deal of time to this course and it’s had a meaningful impact on our students,” says Scheller College Dean Maryam Alavi.
The GT 1000 Instructor of the Year recognizes those who demonstrate creative teaching methods, engage with their students and Team Leaders, encourage intellectual risk, and ensure high-quality class presentations related to the first-year experience.
