Scheller College Will Host Prestigious SFS Finance Cavalcade May 17-20

Nearly 300 leaders in the finance field, including faculty from top universities from around the world and members of the Federal Reserve System and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, will converge at Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business from May 17-20 for the 2015 SFS (Society of Financial Studies) Finance Cavalcade.

Sponsored by the Review of Financial Studies, Review of Corporate Finance Studies, and Review of Asset Pricing Studies, the SFS Finance Cavalcade is considered one of the most prestigious academic finance conferences, according to Scheller College Finance Professor Sudheer Chava.

In collaboration with Scheller faculty members Andras Danis, Nishant Dass and Alex Hsu, Chava led the efforts to bring the event to Georgia Tech.

“It’s a tremendous honor for Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business to serve as host of the SFS Finance Cavalcade,” says Chava, who led efforts to bring the event to Georgia Tech, along with his fellow faculty members Andras Danis, Nishant Dass, and Alex Hsu. “This is a major conference attracting many of the brightest minds in the finance field.”

The conference will cover all areas of finance. For this year’s event, there were 866 paper submissions (a 32 percent increase over 2014) with an acceptance rate of 10.2 percent. Presentations will be made in six parallel sessions.

For registration details and to review the conference program, visit the SFS Finance Cavalcade website. Registration is free for Georgia Tech faculty and doctoral students.

Conference receptions will be sponsored by Scheller College, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and Masters Capital Management, LLC.

Conference leaders include Chair Wei Jiang of Columbia University; Vice Chair Hanno Lustig of the University of California, Los Angeles; Associate Chair Heitor Almeida of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and SFS Advisory Chairs Matthew Spiegel of Yale University, and Laura Starks of the University of Texas at Austin.
