IT Management Faculty Members Niculescu and Smith Honored for Teaching

Georgia Tech’s Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) has presented Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business faculty members Florin Niculescu and Mike Smith with teaching honors.

Niculescu, associate professor of information technology management, won the CETL/BP American Junior Faculty Teaching Award, which recognizes teaching excellence and educational innovation among non-tenured faculty members. Niculescu received tenure just after presentation of this award.

Niculescu joined the faculty of the College in 2009 after earning his PhD at Stanford University. In 2013, he won both Scheller College’s Brady Family Award for Research Excellence and Georgia Tech's Class of 1940 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award

Smith, a full-time lecturer of information technology management, received the CETL Undergraduate Educator Award, which recognizes the outstanding contributions of non-tenure-track faculty.  Smith, who holds a PhD in Management from Georgia Tech, develops and delivers courses at Georgia Tech in business data communications, systems analysis and design, project management, and various development tools.
