MBA Pathway: Tech Students Can Earn Admission, Work Two Years, Then Start Degree

Georgia Tech undergraduates in all majors now have an opportunity to get accepted into Scheller’s MBA Program before even graduating.

Normally, prospective MBA students are required to gain at least a few years of post-grad work experience before even being considered for Scheller College’s Full-time and Evening MBA programs.

But through Scheller’s new MBA Pathway Program, Tech students can get ahead by earning deferred admission, working for at least two years, and then starting their MBA (Full-time or Evening).

The 2014 MBA Pathway application deadline is August 1. To apply in 2014 (to be eligible to start the MBA in 2016), students’ graduation date must be December 2013, May 2014, or August 2014.

“Through the program, Georgia Tech undergraduate students from all disciplines will have a new way to plan ahead for career advancement,” says Paula Wilson, Scheller’s director of MBA admissions. “Qualified students can secure admission during their final year of undergraduate studies.”

Earning an MBA is a great way for people from all academic and professional backgrounds to take their career to the next level, Wilson says. “You can start planning today to position yourself for leadership roles requiring greater understanding of the functional areas of business,” she says.

The MBA Pathway Program is currently only available to Georgia Tech students. “As we considered offering a deferred-admission program, it made perfect sense to start with our great students here at Tech who are known for being exceptionally bright and hard-working. Through the years, we’ve been fortunate to attract many alumni back to Tech for their MBA, because they know the caliber of the educational experience they will receive here.”
