Broome Recognized as GT 1000 Instructor of Year

Stan Broome, corporate relations manager in Scheller’s Undergraduate Office, who was selected as the GT 1000 Outstanding Instructor of the Year at Georgia Institute of Technology.

“This a great honor and recognition for Stan and the entire Scheller College,” says Craig Womack, director of Scheller’ Undergraduate Office.

Currently, 135 instructors across Georgia Tech teach GT 1000, a seminar course for first-year students covering academic success strategies, educational and service opportunities, academic major and career exploration, and resume preparation.

“Stan is known for going above and beyond in his commitment to students, so it’s gratifying to see him recognized for his hard work,” says Scheller Dean Maryam Alavi.

The GT 1000 Instructor of the Year recognizes those who demonstrate creative teaching methods, engage with their students and Team Leaders, encourage intellectual risk, and ensure high-quality class presentations related to the first-year experience.
