Federal Reserve of Atlanta CEO Dennis Lockhart to Speak at Tech Oct. 19

Dennis Lockhart, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will discuss the work of his organization at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in the IMPACT Speaker Series.

Lockhart's lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in LeCraw Auditorium of the College of Management building (800 West Peachtree Street).

Organized by Georgia Tech's Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship, the weekly IMPACT Speaker Series brings notable business executives, high-tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and intellectual leaders to the College.

Lockhart started his current role in 2007. His duties include serving on the Federal Reserve's chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee. The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District which covers Alabama, Florida, and Georgia as well as parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Lockhart served on the faculty of Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service from 2003 to 2007. From 2001 to 2003, he was managing partner at the private equity firm Zephyr Management. Prior to joining Zephyr, Lockhart worked for 13 years at Heller Financial, where he served as executive vice president and director of the parent company and as president of Heller International Group.
