Lasting Impressions: How a Georgia Tech Grad Laid the Foundation for a Billion Dollar Business Based on Timeless Values and Principles

Please join the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship and Georgia Tech Student Foundation for a talk from James Love, Chairman and CEO of Printpack. James E. Love, III, is Chairman and CEO of Printpack, a major manufacturer of flexible packaging and specialty rigid packaging for consumer and food products.  Founded by his father J. Erskine Love, Jr. in 1956, Printpack is still a privately-held, family-owned business.  He joined the family business in 1992 after nine years in investment banking with Robinson-Humphrey in Atlanta. Love received his B.S. cum laude from Duke University in 1979 and earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1983. Active in professional, civic and social organizations, Love served two terms as Chairman of the Flexible Packaging Association, the industry’s major trade association.  He currently serves on the Executive Board of The Boy Scouts of America-Atlanta Area Council and previously served on the Board of The Westminster Schools, as well as the Board of Agnes Scott College.  He has been an active alum of Duke, serving in various leadership roles in their reunion gift campaigns.  He previously served on the Boards of the Piedmont Driving Club, Visiting Nurse Association, The Bridge Family Center, and The Alliance Theatre Company.  He is a current member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, the Piedmont Driving Club, and The Capital City Club.  He is also a lifelong member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Sarah Ellen McIntire, are the parents of four children, all graduates of The Westminster Schools: Erskine (Duke ‘11, Wharton MBA ‘17), Margy (Williams College ‘12), Walter (Wake Forest ‘14), and Frank (US Naval Academy ‘16).  Mr. Love enjoys playing tennis and golf and watching lacrosse, diving, and Duke basketball, as well as music, travel and theatre. Love will speak at Georgia Tech's IMPACT Speaker Series on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.   About the Impact Speaker Series: Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership". The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders. The lecture series is sponsored by the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship and Georgia Tech Student Foundation.  The series is free and open to the public, reservations are not required.
