Come hear an inspiring talk by a successful leader!

Becky Head-shotBecky Blalock is a trailblazer to the C-suite, a thought leader in multiple industries, author and a sought after speaker. Her consulting firm, Advisory Capital, delivers strategic insight and expertise to companies involved in the energy, information technology, and medical industries.

During her 33-year career at Southern Company, a Fortune 200 utility company, Becky rose to become CIO in a traditionally male-dominated industry. In her bestselling book, DARE Straight Talk on Confidence, Courage, and Career for WOMEN IN CHARGE (Wiley), Becky couples her own hard-won advice with guidance and mentoring lessons from (a diverse set of) twenty-eight top executives from across the country.

Becky’s unique perspective and insights on business, confidence, career, diversity, technology, and relationships make her a sought-after speaker at industry associations, corporate meetings, and forums. She is often asked to speak at business schools and industry think-tanks.

Leveraging her real-world corporate experience, Becky imparts proven advice, practical ideas, and tips for achieving greater success in the workplace. Based on your organizational goals, Becky’s speaking engagements can be structured as a keynote, a conversational fireside chat / Q&A or an interactive workshop spanning several hours to multiple days.

Attendees will take away concrete advice and proven concepts on how to gain confidence, step outside their comfort zone, find mentors, bounce back from failure, build a network of allies, manage others – and ultimately dare to reach the highest tier of leadership and C-suite positions. Senior leaders will come away with ideas on how to manage, attract, groom and retain talent— and how to spread the conversation internally and externally.

About the Impact Speaker Series:

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership." The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni, and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders. The lecture series is sponsored by the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

The series is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
