UPS Joins BAC Executive Council

UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company and one of the most recognized brands in the world is joining the Executive Council of Georgia Tech’s Business Analytics Center at Scheller College of Business.

“When we can save up to $50 million a year just by shaving off a mile per day per driver, it’s obvious why we’re investing heavily in business analytics, machine learning and even AI,” said Mohammed "Mo" Chaara, Enterprise Director of Advanced Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning and AI at UPS. “Business analytics are vital to UPS. Therefore, we are delighted to join the Executive Council and partner with Georgia Tech for advanced research and to identify and develop the next generation of business analytics and data science leaders.”

"As a world leader in innovation, UPS uses analytics every day to solve practical business problems,” said Dr. Sri Narasimhan, IT Management Professor and Faculty Co-Director of the Business Analytics Center. “We are excited about the exchange of knowledge this partnership presents to both our students and faculty.”

“UPS has been a great supporter at Georgia Tech for more than 20 years,” added Keith Werle, Managing Director of the Business Analytics Center. “They are an outstanding Atlanta company and we appreciate the global strengths they will bring to our Executive Council.”

Additional members of the Business Analytics Center Executive Council include The Coca-Cola Company, NCR, The Home Depot, McKesson, AT&T, and CapTech Consulting.
