Two Georgia Tech PhD students won top paper honors from the Operations Management (OM) division of the Academy of Management, along with their collaborating faculty members.
PhD student Jeremy Kovach and operations management assistant professor Manpreet Hora won the Chan Hahn Best Paper Award for "Firm Performance in Dynamic Environments: The Role of Operational Slack and Operational Flexibility."
PhD student Marcus Bellamy won the Best Student Paper Award for "Supply Network Structure and Firm Innovation."
He collaborated on the paper with Hora and operations management professor Soumen Ghosh.
"Both of these awards are very high honors as the OM division considers all the accepted papers and confers only one award to a paper in each category," Hora explains.
The Academy of Management, a professional association for scholars of management and organizations, was established in 1936. It publishes several academic journals, organizes conferences, and provides others forums for management professors and managers to communicate research and ideas.
The Academy’s OM Division recently announced the awards at its Orlando, Florida, Business Meeting.
